Jeffree Star haul & review

Hi loves!
I've been a bit M.I.A. for the past few weeks but I'm finally back :)
Whatever your opinion of Jeffree Star is, the truth is that the guy knows how to make awesome products. I already had a few of his Velour liquid lipsticks and loved them, but was dying to try the Skin frost highlighter. Everyone was raving about them so I jumped on the bandwagon and ordered one. The problem (actually the problem for my wallet) was that Jeffree recently collabed with Manny Mua and the two of them released a new Skin frost shade. A gorgeous one. Threw in a couple liquid lipsticks here, and a lip scrub there.. aaaand I was broke. :P  So when the package finally came I was over the moon! Everything is even prettier in person and I'm so glad I got it. So let's get into it :)

The first one is the Jeffree and Manny collab collection , from which I got the Eclipse Skin frost highlighter and Daddy liquid lipstick. And may I say- DAAAMMMNNN! I expected the highlighters to be blinding but this is literally liquid metal on your face. In one swipe your cheekbones are covered in shiny gorgeousness. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who's into blinding highlights. It also works great as an eyeshadow :)
The packaging is matte black with holo writing which looks beautiful, the pan is quite enormous and has a really nice mirror.
I also have to note that all Jeffree Star products are vegan and cruelty free and I absolutely love that!

Daddy liquid lipstick

Daddy is a gorgeous cool toned brown with a grayish undertone. Very beautiful and pigmented, but on my skin tone it looks a bit dead. But all in all, a beautiful color.

                                                         Celebrity skin liquid lipstick

Celebrity skin is a soft brown nude with a peachy undertone, and goes perfectly with just about any look. The texture of these lipsticks is light and comfortable, not too drying, but it really depends on the shade. I find that the darker colors are a bit more drying. They are very long wearing and smudge-proof but will fade a bit in the center of your lips if you eat something oily.
All in all, an absolute recommendation :)

Left to right- Daddy, Celebrity skin

                                                                  Peach goddess

Peach goddess is the only peachy highlight you'll ever need. Seriously. This is literally the only highlighter I used for the last few weeks. It is super pigmented, blends like a dream and looks super blinding. In my opinion it's the ultimate spring/summer highlighter and I'm in love! :)

Last but not least, the Velour lip scrub. I got the Pumpkin spice latte flavor and it's really nice. It exfoliates your lips, hydrates them and tastes good. What more can you ask?:) The fun thing about this product is that is edible,so you don't have to worry about the mess after a scrub, you just lick it away and voila!- your lips are as good as new :)

Thank you for reading and I'll see you in the next one!
Kisses,

Too Faced Sweet Peach Review

Hi loves! Today I'm reviewing this peachy yumminess :)
Few months ago I visited London and of course had to splurge on some Too faced goodies. So I picked up these beauties (and some more :) ).
I am a huge Too Faced fan and absolutely love everything I have tried from them. So let's get into it.

First I'm going to talk about the Sweet Peach eyeshadow palette. As all Too Faced products, the packaging is adorable. The palette comes in a metal, almost tin-like packaging, and has a magnet that ensures it doesn't open by accident. It also has a decent sized mirror and, most importantly, smells like peaches! The smell is not overpowering, it goes away after few minutes, but makes you really hungry while you're doing your makeup :)
I've read that some people have a problem with the scent but personally I like it, it makes this palette stand out.

The shades are absolutely my cup of tea. It is filled with beautiful warm toned shades and it is perfect to do just about any look, from daytime to more glam looks. I also like that there is a variety of matte and shimmery shades.
The pigmentation is great, I only have a problem with two shades that just don't apply well. I even struggled with swatching them on my hand, so you can imagine how they apply on the lid.

                                                                     First row

  • White peach- bone-white shade with a satin finish, perfect for highlighting the brow bone. I also love setting my eyeshadow primer with it.
  • Luscious- my absolute favorite in this palette. A true rose gold shade, super pigmented and reflective.
  • Just peachy- peachy pink shade with golden reflects
  • Bless her heart- olive shade with a greyish undertone, not crazy pigmented but looks great when you build it up.
  • Tempting- gorgeous black with a hint of golden reflects, super pigmented.
  • Charmed, I'm sure- cool toned medium brown with a grey undertone.

                                                                  Second row

  • Nectar- champagne gold shade with a yellow undertone.
  • Cobbler- a beautiful warm medium brown with mauve tones, very reflective and pigmented.
  • Candied peach- a true peachy matte shade with pink reflects. Unfortunately very poorly pigmented.
  • Bellini- my second favorite shade in this palette, gorgeous rose gold metallic shade, but more pink than Luscious.
  • Peach pit- deep plum metallic shade, very pigmented.
  • Delectable- deep purple shade with a satin finish.
Third row

  • Peaches 'n cream- nude matte shade, very pigmented
  • Georgia- soft pink matte shade but poorly pigmented. The swatch on the photo barely shows, even after 3 layers.
  • Caramelized- gorgeous dark brown with golden reflects.
  • Puree- the perfect transition shade, matte warm terracotta.
  • Summer yum- similar to Puree but with more of a reddish undertone, also very beautiful.
  • Talk derby to me- very deep navy blue with purple glitter.
All in all, this palette is a win, great shade range, buttery formula, most shades are super pigmented and blend out beautifully. And that peachy scent is to die for :)

Moving on to blush. Papa don't peach blush is currently my go-to blush. It was a bit of an impulsive purchase but I'm so glad I bought it. :)
Usually I'm not really into shimmery blushes but this one doesn't leave a stripe of glitter on your face, it leaves more of a subtle glow that looks healthy and dewy.
The formula is great, it doesn't get patchy throughout the day and is not overly pigmented, so you can  build it up as intense you want it to be :)
I struggled a bit with photographing the swatch, but I hope you can get the idea. The shade is a warm peach with gold reflection, which would suit pretty much all skin tones.
And yeah, it also smells like peaches. :)

That's all for now, see you in the next one,
kisses,

Guerlain Météorites review

Hi guys! Today I've decided to write about one of the best products I have tried in a while. For a long time I have been on a hunt for a good translucent powder and never seemed to find the one that suits my needs. I wanted something that mattifies my face, doesn't exaggerate fine lines and pores, doesn't feel heavy and has absolutely no color.

One day I stumbled across the Guerlain Météorites happy glow pearls which, at first, thought were a highlighting powder. So I tried applying it to the high points of my face , as you would usually do with a highlighter, and it didn't do absolutely anything. Normally, I was very annoyed and started researching the product a bit further. On the Guerlain website it claims that the product is “perfect for strobing, light sculpting and light contouring“. I find that these claims are very misleading considering that this product has no color, so it's not really clear how are you supposed to contour with a translucent powder. But all that aside, I tried applying it all over my face as a setting powder and it did wonders! :)
It mattified my face just the right amount, I didn't look like I had a powdery mask, but at the same time my face had a subtle glow. The different colored pearls act like somewhat of a color corrector and did a beautiful job evening out my skin tone with a soft blurring effect. Also I have to add that the effect lasts all day, and even at the end of the day when you start to get a bit shiny, it looks like a healthy glow, not like a greasy mess. :)
The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, it comes in a iridescent rose packaging, which has a mirror and a “poof“ applicator, which is very useful to touch up your makeup on the go. I only have say that it's not the most practical to carry around in your purse, it is quite big. Also the fragrance is beautiful, it smells like violets but with a powdery hint.
It is very pricey, it retails around $70, but if you are in a mood to splurge on a luxury makeup item, I would absolutely recommend buying this one.

The newest addition to my small Guerlain collection is the Météorites base. On the Guerlain website it claims to work as a skin-perfecting and anti-dullness makeup base. And it does just that. This primer has a gel-like texture that plumps up the skin, gives a very soft and healthy radiance and hydrates the skin. Foundation applies beautifully on top of it and almost has a “glow from within“ type of finish. It is also rich in polymers that help reduce sebum and help your skin condition in general.
I really like it, it is a beautiful primer, sometimes I wear it on its own (on those rare no makeup days) and it does keep my makeup in place all day. But do I think it is worth the high price? Not really. It retails for $74 on the Sephora website, and I don't think you need to spend that much on this particular primer. A good dupe is the Too faced Hangover primer that hydrates the skin and does wonders for your makeup :)

Thank you for reading, see you soon!

My Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit Collection (review and lip swatches)

I'm sure that everyone even remotely interested in makeup has heard about the famous Kylie's liquid lipsticks. For a while now they've been one of the most popular liquid lipsticks on the market, popping out from Instagram, Facebook, YouTube.. Soooo as the makeup junkie I am, I have been patiently awaiting restocks and buying shades I thought would suit me (most of them were hits, some..well not so much). Over the past few months I've collected a fair amount, enough to write this post :)
As you'll see, I have tried every formula she's come up with, there are mattes, glosses, velvet and metal.
Lip swatches will be at the end of this post :)
So let's start!

(from the top: Harmony, Kristen, Mary Jo K, Ginger)

Harmony is from the Velvet range and is a warm mid-tone pink. The formula is absolutely amazing, it  isn't matte but it's not too shiny, more of a satin finish that doesn't dry out the lips. What I love about this formula is that when it wears off a bit it becomes matte, but without the dry feeling. It is also very long lasting on the lips and when it starts to wear off, it disappears gradually (without leaving that awkward line around your mouth- we've all been there) :)

Moving on to mattes, they are extremely long lasting, kinda dry but nothing extreme. Just for comparison, ColourPop matte liquid lipsticks give me the creeps, they are the most uncomfortable liquid lipsticks I've ever tried (but I love their matte lippie stix). They really stay on the whole day, power through eating and drinking, without the need to touch up). Kristen is a beautiful warm, muted strawberry red, very pigmented and I think it would suit almost every skin tone. Mary Jo K is a gorgeous  true red with a blue undertone which makes your teeth look really white :). Ginger is my favorite fall/winter shade. It is a warm rich terracotta brown.

The Holiday Collection

(From the top: Noel, Cupid, Dancer, Angel, Blitzen)

Moving on to Holiday Collection which had some amazing shades and a few misses. The glosses didn't impress me, they are sticky, goopy and overall nothing special. But I'm really not a lipgloss kinda gal, so don't take my word for it :) Noel is a true gold with coppery glitter, and as you'll see on the lip swatch, doesn't suit me at all. Cupid on the other hand is very pretty, a rose gold shade with pinky reflects. Again, very pretty and wearable shade but I'm just not into glosses.
Dancer is a metal liquid lipstick and I absolutely adore this shade. It is a rich burgundy, rusty, deep red and looks amazing in real life. The photo definitely doesn't do it justice. The only thing is, it's a bit sheer, so you'll have to build it up to your desired opacity, but it layers nicely so you won't have a problem with that. Also, the formula is very comfortable and long lasting.
And finally, the two mattes from the Holiday kit. Angel is one of my favorite day-to-day shades, it is a cool toned mauve. Lastly, Blitzen is a gorgeous dark purple with some fuchsia undertones. Unfortunately, the formula on this one is so streaky that even after 3 layers it still wasn't opaque enough. Also it stains your lips like a mofo. :(

And now, lip swatch time :)
Velvet- Harmony

That's all for now, I hope you enjoyed this mini review and I'll see you in the next one :)
